Turkey's Economy Emerges as the Fastest-Growing Among G20 Countries
Turkey Takes the Lead: Impressive Economic Growth in Q3
In a noteworthy announcement, Turkish Minister of Trade, Omar Bolat, stated on Thursday that Turkey has positioned itself as the fastest-growing economy among the G20 nations and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) during the third quarter of this year.
In light of official data released today, the Turkish economy achieved a growth rate of 5.9% in the third quarter of 2023, a remarkable feat.
Sustained Outstanding Performance:
In a tweet on his official account, Bolat explained that the Turkish economy has consistently maintained its outstanding growth performance for 13 consecutive quarters, with the gross domestic product (GDP) rising by 5.9% during the mentioned period.
Achievements Despite Challenges:
Addressing the challenges faced by Turkey, Bolat noted that the country managed to increase its exports of goods and services by 1.1%, despite the earthquake that struck the southeast of the country in February and weakened external demand.
Sustainable Growth Strategy:
Bolat added, "Through policies aimed at increasing investment, production, and exports, we aim to enhance overall financial stability and ensure a continuous improvement in the current account in the future. We also seek to advance in the journey of sustainable and high growth."
